Ch. 288                                       LAWS OF MARYLAND

(b) In accordance with the State budget, the care CERTIFIED
ADULT RESIDENTIAL. ENVIRONMENT program shall:

(1)  Provide for the development, certification, and
monitoring of care CERTIFIED ADULT RESIDENTIAL ENVIRONMENT
housing;

(2)  Provide for case management to disabled
individuals residing in care CERTIFIED ADULT RESIDENTIAL
ENVIRONMENT housing; and

(3)  Arrange for the provision of supportive services
to disabled individuals residing in care CERTIFIED ADULT
RESIDENTIAL ENVIRONMENT housing.

(C)  WITHIN 60 DAYS AFTER RECEIPT OF AN INITIAL APPLICATION
FOR CERTIFICATION OF A BARE CERTIFIED ADULT RESIDENTIAL
ENVIRONMENT HOUSING PROJECT WITH 4 OR MORE BEDS, THE DEPARTMENT
SHALL GIVE THE GOVERNING BODIES OF THE COUNTY AND THE
MUNICIPALITY AND, UPON REQUEST, THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL
ASSEMBLY FROM THE DISTRICT
WHERE THE CARE CERTIFIED ADULT
RESIDENTIAL ENVIRONMENT HOUSING PROJECT IS TO BE LOCATED NOTICE
OF THE FILING OF THE APPLICATION.

(D)  THE DEPARTMENT SHALL REPORT TO THE LEGISLATIVE POLICY
COMMITTEE BY DECEMBER 1ST OF EACH YEAR CONCERNING EACH PROJECT
APPLICATION FILED DURING THE PREVIOUS YEAR. THIS REPORT SHALL
DISCUSS THE FOLLOWING:

(1) WHETHER THE NOTIFICATION REQUIREMENT HAS
FACILITATED THE ESTABLISHMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF THE PROJECT; AND

(2) THE OVERALL SUCCESS OR FAILURE OF ESTABLISHING
THE PROJECT IN THE COUNTY OR MUNICIPALITY.

[(c)] (D) (E) The Department of Human Resources, the
Department of Education, the Department of Health and Mental
Hygiene, and the Office on Aging shall provide appropriate
ancillary services to disabled individuals in the care CERTIFIED
ADULT RESIDENTIAL ENVIRONMENT program in keeping with
programmatic eligibility and priority criteria and budgetary
resources.

[(d)] (E) (F) The Secretary of Human Resources, the
Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene, the State Superintendent
of Schools, and the Director of the Office on Aging shall:

(1) Coordinate departmental programs to assure that
the services needed by disabled adults residing in care CERTIFIED
ADULT RESIDENTIAL ENVIRONMENT housing are provided in an
integrated cost effective manner; and
