Ch. 269

LAWS OF MARYLAND

Act which can be given effect without the invalid provisions of
application, and to this end, all provisions of this Act are
declared to be severable.

SECTION 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1987.

Approved April 29, 1987.

CHAPTER 269

(House Bill 1443)                                 

AN ACT concerning

District Court - Commissioners - Duties

FOR the purpose of   authorizing a supervising commissioner of the

District Court   of a multicounty district to perform the

duties of a     commissioner in any county of the multicounty
district.

BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments,

Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings
Section 2-607(a) and (b)
    Annotated Code of Maryland
  (1984 Replacement Volume and 1986 Supplement)

BY adding to                                                                   

Article- Courts and Judicial Proceedings
Section 26-607(f)
      Annotated Code of Maryland                                       

(1984 Replacement Volume and 1986 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings

2-607.

(a) (1) The administrative judge of each district, with the
approval of the Chief Judge of the District. Court, may appoint
the number of commissioners necessary to perform the functions of
the office within each county.
