AN ACT concerning

Prince George's County - Marriage License Fee -

Domestic Violence

PG 409-87

FOR the purpose of increasing to a certain amount the marriage
license fee that the County Council of Prince George's
County may set to fund battered spouse shelters and domestic
violence programs; and generally relating to marriage
license fees.

BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

2-404.

(a) (1) The fee for a license is $10.

(2) The clerk shall:                                                                         

(i) retain $5 of the fee; and

(ii) pay $5 of the fee into the general fund of
the county.

(b) (i) [Any] EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (G) OF THIS
SECTION, ANY county or group of 2 or more counties may set an
additional fee of up to $25 for each license.
