LAWS OF MARYLAND

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 27 - Crimes and Punishments

(e) (1) In this section, "weekend prisoner" means a
prisoner under the jurisdiction of the Sheriff of Harford County,
whose sentence is to be performed during any 48-hour period OR
ANY PORTION THEREOF in any 7-day period, with each period of
confinement to constitute not less than 2 days of the sentence
imposed.

(2) Harford County may collect from a "weekend prisoner" an
amount determined to be the cost to the county of providing food,
lodging, and clothing for the prisoner. The court may waive any
or all of this charge.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1987.

AN ACT concerning                                   

Vehicle Laws - Failure to Comply with Notice to
Appear - Warrant

FOR the purpose of excluding vehicle offenses punishable by
incarceration from a prohibition against the issuance of a
certain warrant until a specific time after the original
trial date; and generally relating to the issuance in which
a warrant for a failure to comply with a notice to appear
for certain vehicle offenses punishable by incarceration.
