(3) At the time of submitting the certified copies of
returns required by § 17-5 OF THIS ARTICLE, the local board shall
furnish a copy of the certification specified in paragraph (2) of
this section.

DRAFTER'S NOTE: This corrects stylistic errors in
cross-references in Article 33, § 16-18.

The stylistic errors occurred in Ch. 82 of the Acts of
1976.

The stylistic errors were noted by the Michie Company.

16B-2.

(b) (1) The State Board may not approve any voting system
unless it meets the standards in [§ 16B-2(a)] SUBSECTION (A) OF
THIS SECTION and the public interest will be served by approval
of the system.

(d) If the State Board determines that a system it has
previously certified no longer merits certification, it may
decertify that system and, if one or more of the. standards in [§
16B-2(a)(l), (2), and (3)] SUBSECTION (A)(1),(2), AND (3) OF THIS
SECTION are no longer met, shall decertify that system. The
State Board shall determine when, or upon what conditions, the
decertification becomes effective. In no event may the
decertification (or an amendment to the rules and regulations
having the effect of decertification) become effective for a
subdivision whose local board has acted in reliance upon the
certification of the system involved, and upon whom
decertification would have a significant and adverse impact,
unless the local board and the governing body of that subdivision
consent thereto or the State Board determines, with respect to
that subdivision, that the system no longer meets all of the
standards set forth in [§ 16B-2(a)(l), (2), and (3)] SUBSECTION
(A)(1), (2), AND (3) OF THIS SECTION.

DRAFTER'S NOTE: This corrects stylistic errors in internal
references in Article 33, § 16B-2(b) and (d).

The stylistic errors occurred in Ch. 347 of the Acts
of 1978.

The stylistic errors were noted by the Michie Company
and by the Administrative Office of the Courts of
Maryland.

(b) In the event any member of the board is not present at
the time fixed in subsection (a) [hereof] OF THIS SECTION for
conducting the canvass, any substitute member of the board may be
