(2)  For prosecuting or defending any action,
including the collection of money due on mortgage, in a court of
equity — $10;

(3)  For prosecuting or defending a case in the Court
of Appeals — $10;

(4)  For prosecuting or defending a criminal case if
the punishment for the offense charged is death or confinement in
the penitentiary — $10;

(5)  In all other criminal cases — $5.

(T) IN ST. MARY'S COUNTY, THE CLERK OF THE CIRCUIT COURT
FOR ST. MARY'S COUNTY MAY NOT COLLECT ANY APPEARANCE FEES.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1986.

AN ACT concerning

Workmen's Compensation - Record Transcript -
Appeals to Circuit Court

FOR the purpose of removing a certain obsolete procedural
requirement regarding certain cases on appeal from the
Workmen's Compensation Commission; removing the requirement,
except under certain circumstances, that a record transcript
of certain proceedings before the Commission be filed with
the court when a case is appealed; and generally relating to
appeals to a court from a decision of the Commission.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 101 - Workmen's Compensation

Section 56(a)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
