BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article - Family Law

Section 3-105(a)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1984 Volume and 1985 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Family Law

[ 3-105.

(a)  A person may not:

(1)  assert or settle a claim abolished or prohibited
by this title;

(2)  file or threaten to file an action prohibited by
this title; OR

(3)  [attempt to induce another individual to
assert, settle, file, or threaten to file an action prohibited by
this title; or

(4)] receive or accept any money or thing of value
knowing that it is in payment of a claim abolished or prohibited
by this title.

(b) A person who violates any provision of this section is
guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine
not exceeding $5,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 5 years or
both.]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1986.
