AN ACT concerning
Election Laws - Replacement Voter Cards
FOR the purpose of clarifying the method of providing voter
information cards; providing for replacement voter
registration cards; and generally relating to voter
registration cards.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 33 - Election Code
3-23.
(a) The board of registry shall a card containing the
name and address of voter, the date of issue, and the WARD OR
election district and precinct of the voter. The card shall be
evidence that the voter has been properly registered on the date
appearing on the card. The board [may] SHALL issue [duplicate] A
REPLACEMENT voters' notification or information [cards, to be
stamped "Duplicate"] CARD ON REQUEST OF A VOTER OR when a [voter
changes his address or name] CHANGE IS MADE IN A VOTER
REGISTRATION RECORD. THE REPLACEMENT CARD SHALL CONTAIN THE NAME
AND ADDRESS OF THE VOTER, THE DATE OF ISSUE, AND THE WARD OR
ELECTION DISTRICT AND PRECINCT OF THE VOTER AND SHALL BE EVIDENCE
THAT THE VOTER WAS PROPERLY REGISTERED ON THE DATE APPEARING ON
THE CARD.
(A) UPON THE REGISTRATION OF A VOTER BY A LOCAL BOARD, THE
BOARD SHALL ISSUE TO THE VOTER A VOTER NOTIFICATION AND
IDENTIFICATION CARD CONTAINING THE NAME AND ADDRESS OF THE VOTER,
THE DATE OF ISSUE, AND THE WARD (OR ELECTION DISTRICT) AND
