related expenses) to the insurers which are then writing in this
State policies of the kinds of insurance covered by this subtitle
and which had made payments to the Association CORPORATION, pro
rata upon the basis of the aggregate of such payments made by the
respective insurers during the period of five years next
preceding the date of such order. Upon completion of such
distribution with respect to all of the kinds of insurance
covered by this subtitle, this subtitle shall be deemed to have
expired.

THE USE BY ANY PERSON IN ANY MANNER OF THE PROTECTION
AFFORDED BY THIS SUBTITLE AS AN INDUCEMENT IN THE SALE OF
INSURANCE IS A MISLEADING AND DECEPTIVE PRACTICE PROHIBITED BY
SUBTITLE 15 OF THIS ARTICLE.

550.

(a)  A nonstock corporation is created, known as the
"Medical Mutual Liability Insurance Society of Maryland,"
hereinafter referred to as "the Society." Except as otherwise
provided in this subtitle, the corporation has all the power,
privileges, and immunities granted by and is subject to all the
provisions imposed upon mutual insurers under the provisions of
the Insurance Code (Article 48A) of the Code and the applicable
provisions of the Corporations and Associations Article.

(b)  The Society is a member of the Joint Insurance
Association and the [Maryland Insurance Guaranty Association]
PROPERTY AND CASUALTY INSURANCE GUARANTY ASSOCIATION CORPORATION.

568.

(a) Subject to the provisions of § 567 (b), a nonstock
society is created to be known as the "Legal Mutual Liability
Insurance Society of Maryland."

(b) Except as otherwise provided in this subtitle, the
Society has all the power, privileges, and immunities granted by
and is subject to the provisions imposed upon mutual insurers by
this article and by the applicable provisions of the Corporations
and Associations Article.

(c) The Society is not subject to the provisions of §§ 252,
253 or 268A of this article or § 6-505 of the Corporations and
Associations Article.

(d) The Society is a member of the professional liability
fund and the [Maryland] PROPERTY AND CASUALTY Insurance Guaranty
[Association] CORPORATION.
