any deputy sheriff of the county] IN WASHINGTON COUNTY, THE BOARD
OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL PRESCRIBE BY ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION THE MANNER IN WHICH THE POWERS, DUTIES, AND
RESPONSIBILITIES PLACED WITHIN ITS JURISDICTION AND CONTROL BY
THIS SECTION SHALL BE EXERCISED.

[(g)](F) In Kent County, the application to the sheriff
shall be made within thirty days after the occurrence of the
injury or destruction.

[(h)] (G) In Somerset and Dorchester counties, this section
does not apply.

[(i)] (H) In Carroll and Frederick counties, the Board of
County Commissioners shall prescribe by ordinance or resolution
the manner in which the powers, duties, and responsibilities
placed within its jurisdiction and control by this section shall
be exercised. An award granted by the County Commissioners for
damages may not exceed $300.

[(j)] (I) In Garrett County, the Board of County
Commissioners shall prescribe by ordinance or resolution the
manner in which the powers, duties, and responsibilities placed
within its jurisdiction and control by this section shall be
exercised.

[(k)] (J) In Caroline County, the Board of County
Commissioners shall prescribe by ordinance or resolution the
manner in which the powers, duties, and responsibilities placed
within its jurisdiction and control by this section shall be
exercised.

[(l] (K) In Baltimore County, the County Council may
prescribe by law the manner in which the powers, duties, and
responsibilities of this section shall be exercised.

199.

(a)  Any person violating or refusing to comply with any of
the provisions of this subtitle is guilty of a misdemeanor and
shall be fined not less than $5 nor more than $25 or shall be
imprisoned in the county jail for not more than 30 days, or shall
be both fined and imprisoned. The State's attorney and the
sheriffs of the several counties shall prosecute all persons
found violating the law by refusing to comply with its
provisions.

(b)  In Calvert County the fine is $50 or 60 days.

(c)  This subtitle does not apply to the City of Baltimore,
the City of Cambridge, or the City of Crisfield.

(D) THIS SECTION DOES NOT APPLY IN WASHINGTON COUNTY.
