other assistance is guilty of perjury and upon conviction
therefor is subject to the penalties provided by law for perjury.

DRAFTER'S NOTE:     This  converts an obsolete reference to the

Department of    Human Resources as the Department of

Employment  and     Social Services in Article 88A, §
62(a).

The Department of Employment and Social Services
became the Department of Human Resources in Ch. 382 of
the Acts of the General Assembly of 1975.

The obsolete reference was noted by the professional
staff of the Legislative Division of the Department of
Legislative Reference.

79.

The local governing authority shall annually levy or
appropriate an amount sufficient to provide for one sixth of all
assistance paid or to be paid within said county or city. [The
provisions of this section are subject to the requirements of §
18A of this article.]

DRAFTER'S NOTE: This deletes an obsolete provision in
Article 88A, § 79.

Article 88A, § 18A, relating to local contributions to
public assistance programs, was repealed in Ch. 103 of
the Acts of the General Assembly of 1978.

The obsolete provision was noted by the Michie
Company.

Article 88B - State Police

The following words shall have the meanings contained in
this section unless the context manifestly indicates a different
meaning:

(9) "Rule" means any rule, regulation, order or other
directive adopted by the Superintendent pursuant to this article.
A rule is not for any purpose a rule within the meaning of [the
Administrative Procedure Act or Article 41, § 9 of this Code]
TITLE 10, SUBTITLE 1 OF THE STATE GOVERNMENT ARTICLE.

DRAFTER'S NOTE: This corrects an outdated cross-reference
in Article 88B, § 2(a).

The Administrative Procedure Act and Article 41, § 9
became Title 10, Subtitle 1 of the State Government
Article in Ch. 284 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of 1984.
