immediate preservation of the public health and safety and having
been passed by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of
all the members elected to each of the two Houses of the General
Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date of its
passage.

AN ACT concerning

Collection Agencies - License Pees

FOR the purpose of increasing the license fee for collection
agencies required to be licensed to engage in the business
of a collection agency in this State.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 56 - Licenses

Section 327(a)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1983 Replacement Volume and 1985 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 56 - Licenses

327.

(a) The annual license fee for each calendar year or part of
a calendar year is [$100] $150 for each place of business. At the
time the license application is filed, the applicant shall pay to
the Commissioner the license fee. The fee is nonrefundable.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1986.
