BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 33 - Election Code

Section 2-7(g)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1983 Replacement Volume and 1985 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 33 - Election Code

2-7.

(g) (1) Judges shall receive a course of instruction in
their duties administered by the board.

(2) IN PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, A JUDGE OR JUDGES AND
ALTERNATE JUDGE JUDGES SHALL RECEIVE $25 AS COMPENSATION FOR
TAKING THE COURSE OF INSTRUCTION AN AMOUNT EQUAL TO 50 PERCENT OF
THE PER DIEM RATE OF COMPENSATION TO WHICH THAT JUDGE OR
ALTERNATE JUDGE WOULD BE ENTITLED.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to
Article III, § 35, of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act may
not be construed to extend or apply to the salary or compensation
of the Prince George's County Election Judges in office on the
effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act
concerning the salary or compensation of the Prince George's
County Election Judges shall take effect at the beginning of the
next following term of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July June 1, 1986.
