AN EMERGENCY ACT:

(1)  to combine the Hardship Rental Assistance Program and
the Rent Supplement Program into one program entitled
the Rental Assistance Program;

(2)  to establish qualifications, eligibility, and
methodology for rental assistance benefits;

(3)  to provide for continuity of the Handicapped Rental
Assistance Program; and

(4)  to generally amend the law on rental assistance
programs.

By repealing

Chapter 41A, Rent Supplement and Assistance Program
Sections 41A-1 through 41A-12 of the Montgomery County Code

By adding to

Chapter 41A, Rental and Handicapped Rental Assistance Program
Sections 41A-1 through 41A-12 of the Montgomery County Code

Effective Date May 17, 1985.
