35.02.01.01 General Administration

General Fund Appropriation,
provided that expenditures for
inmate clinical and medical
hospital contracts for medical

services shall not exceed

$14,460,374 appropriated among

the various Division of

Correction institutional budgets,
Patuxent Institution and the
Office of the Secretary without
prior approval of the budget
committees.......................

Provided that funds appropriated
for object .01 (salaries and
wages) shall be used for their
designated purpose only and may
not be transferred, by budget
amendment or otherwise for any
other purpose, except on a 30 day
temporary emergency basis as
certified by the Commissioner of
Correction.

Be it further enacted that the

Division of Correction is

prohibited from allowing any

correctional officer working out
of class as a dog handler and
that all dog handlers be either
authorized dog handler positions
included in the staffing pattern

of the institutions or

contractual personnel.

Funds are appropriated in the
Maryland Parole Commission budget
to pay for services provided by
this program. Authorization is
hereby granted to use these
receipts as special funds for
operating expenses in this
program.
