This bill authorizes the Department of Health and Mental
Hygiene to investigate complaints concerning major medical
equipment and to deny a license to an applicant who caused the
revocation of a prior license.

House Bill 1636, which was passed by the General Assembly
and signed by me on May 27, 1986, accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 811.

AN ACT concerning

Health Care Cost Containment - Licensing —Major Medical

Equipment

FOR the purpose of authorizing the Secretary of Health and
Medical Mental Hygiene to investigate complaints concerning
licensees of major medical equipment; authorizing the
Secretary to inspect the operation of licensed major medical
equipment for certain purposes; requiring certain complaints
to be referred to the Commission on Medical Discipline of
Maryland; authorizing the Secretary to deny a license for
major medical equipment under certain circumstances; and
generally relating to the licensing of major medical
equipment.
