RESOLVED, That the Governor designate the Chairman of the
Task Force on Health Care Regulation Joint Committed on Health
Care Cost Containment
report its findings and recommendations to
the General Assembly by October 1, 1986 January 30, 1987; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That staff for the Task Force be provided by the
Department of Legislative Reference and the Department of Fiscal
Services; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be forwarded by the
Department of Legislative Reference to the Honorable Adele
Wilzack, Secretary of the Department of Health and Mental
Hygiene, 201 W. Preston Street, Baltimore, MD 21201; Ms. Deborah
Lewis-Idema, Assistant Secretary for Health Regulation, 201 W.
Preston Street, Baltimore, MD 21201; Mr. David P. Scheffenacker,
Chairperson of the State Health Services Cost Review Commission,
201 W. Preston Street, Baltimore, MD 21201; and Mr. Carville M.
Akehurst, Chairperson, the State Health Resources Planning
Commission, 201 W. Preston Street, Baltimore, MD 21201.

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be forwarded by the
Department of Legislative Reference to the Honorable Harry
Hughes, Governor of Maryland, the Honorable Melvin A. Steinberg,
President of the Senate of Maryland, and the Honorable Benjamin
L. Cardin, Speaker of the House of Delegates.

A Senate Joint Resolution concerning

Geriatric Care Curricula

FOR the purpose of requesting the Governor to provide funding to
develop a geriatric care curriculum at the University of
Maryland, School of Medicine and The Johns Hopkins
University, School of Medicine.

WHEREAS, By the year 2000, 36 million Americans will be 65
years of age or older; and

WHEREAS, This group of citizens will compose approximately
13% of the population in 2000, as compared with 11% in 1980; and
