A Senate Joint Resolution concerning
"Catch a Fortune" Fishing Contest of the
Department of Natural Resources
FOR the purpose of requesting the Department of Natural Resources
to act in a certain manner and to give a certain prize under
the "Catch a Fortune" Sport Fishing Contest to certain
persons.
Preamble
WHEREAS, The Department of Natural Resources had a contest
in 1985 entitled "Maryland's Catch a Fortune Sportfishing
Contest" sponsored by Governor Harry Hughes' striped bass
moratorium compensation program; and
WHEREAS, Under this fishing contest, each month for six
months beginning in April, 1985 the Department of Natural
Resources released 20 fish that were tagged with a total cash
value of $52,000 each month, with over $450,000 in cash prizes to
be awarded over the six-month contest; and
