AN ACT concerning
Vehicle Laws - Special Registrations
FOR the purpose of authorizing an owner of certain vehicles to
apply to the Motor Vehicle Administration for the assignment
of certain special registration plates if a certain lessee,
or director, officer, employee, or partner of a business
entity is a member of certain organizations; and generally
relating to an authorization of the assignment of special
registration plates if a certain lessee, or director,
officer, employee, or partner of a business entity is a
member of certain organizations.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Transportation
13-614.
(a) (1) The owner of any vehicle described in paragraph (2)
of this subsection A VEHICLE, OR A LESSEE Of THE VEHICLE UNDER A
LEASE NOT INTENDED AS SECURITY, OR A DIRECTOR, OFFICER, EMPLOYEE,
OR PARTNER OF A BUSINESS ENTITY THAT OWNS THE VEHICLE may apply
to the Administration for the assignment to that vehicle of a
special, veterans' organization registration number, if:
(I) the [applicant] OWNER, OR A LESSEE OF A
VEHICLE UNDER A LEASE NOT INTENDED AS SECURITY, OR A DIRECTOR,
OFFICER, EMPLOYEE, OR PARTNER OF A BUSINESS ENTITY THAT OWNS THE
VEHICLE is a member of:
(i) 1. The Department of Maryland, Veterans of
Foreign Wars of the United States;
(ii) 2. The Department of Maryland, Disabled
American Veterans of the United States; or
(iii) 3. The Department of Maryland, American
Legion; AND
