BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

(As enacted by Chapter ___ (S.B. 968) of the Acts

of the General Assembly of 1986)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF

MARYLAND, That Section(s) 75 through 92 and the subtitle "Private

Detectives" of Article 56 - Licenses of the Annotated Code of
Maryland be repealed.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of
Maryland read as follows:

PART I. DEFINITIONS; GENERAL PROVISIONS.

543. DEFINITIONS.

(A)  IN GENERAL.

IN THIS SUBTITLE THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS
INDICATED.

(B)  CERTIFICATION CARD.

"CERTIFICATION CARD" MEANS A CARD ISSUED BY THE
SUPERINTENDENT:

(1)  UNDER § 571 OF THIS SUBTITLE TO AN INDIVIDUAL
CERTIFIED AS A PRIVATE DETECTIVE; OR

(2)  UNDER § 583 OF THIS SUBTITLE TO AN INDIVIDUAL
CERTIFIED AS A SECURITY GUARD.

(C)  COUNTY.

"COUNTY" MEANS A COUNTY OF THE STATE AND, UNLESS EXPRESSLY
PROVIDED OTHERWISE, BALTIMORE CITY.

(D)  FIRM.
