Ch. 793
WHEREAS, In 1984, the General Assembly enacted certain laws
requiring manufacturers and distributors to provide the
purchasers of any hazardous chemical with material safety data
sheets; and
WHEREAS, These laws were to by fully complied with no later
than November 25, 1985; and
WHEREAS, Due to the complexity of these requirements, many
of those who were required to comply could not do so by the
November 25, 1985 deadline; and
WHEREAS, Purchasers of these hazardous chemicals have a
right and need to know of the potential health hazards when
exposed to these hazardous chemicals; and
WHEREAS, Such knowledge is essential to reducing the
incidence, frequency, and cost of occupational diseases and
injuries; and
WHEREAS, Extending the compliance date will enable those who
have had difficulty in complying to still comply without penalty,
and thus this important information will get to the purchasers of
hazardous chemicals; now, therefore,
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Chapter 364 of the Acts of 1984, as amended by
Chapter 652 of the Acts of 1985
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That manufacturers
and distributors shall comply with Article 89, §§ 32G and 32J of
the Code no later than [November 25, 1985] DECEMBER 30, 1987.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That manufacturers and
distributors shall comply with Article 89, §§ 326 and 32J of the
Code no later than [November 25, 1985] DECEMBER 30, 1987.
