AN ACT concerning
Hazardous Chemicals - Manufacturers, Distributors or Importers
Occupational Safety
FOR the purpose of extending the date for manufacturers,
distributors, or importers of hazardous chemicals to comply
with certain provision of law relating to labeling of
hazardous chemicals and the duty to provide material safety
data sheets to purchasers of hazardous chemicals requiring
certain employers to submit material safety data sheets to
the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene within a
specified time period; requiring the Department of Health
and Mental Hygiene to review certain materials; requiring
certain independent contractors or employers to provide
specified information to certain employers within a
specified time period; requiring certain persons to
designate a common location where independent contractors or
employers shall leave their chemical information list before
they commence work; requiring the Division of Labor and
Industry, in consultation with certain industry
representatives, to develop a certain model training
program; and generally relating to hazardous chemicals.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Chapter 364 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1984, as
amended by Chapter 652 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of 1985

Preamble
WHEREAS, In 1984 the General Assembly enacted certain laws
requiring chemical manufacturers, importers, or distributors of
hazardous chemicals to label, tag, or mark each container of
hazardous chemicals leaving their workplace with certain
information; and
