AN ACT concerning

Human Relations Law - Public Accommodations

FOR the purpose of expanding the scope of the prohibition against
discrimination with respect to places of public
accommodation; specifying the application of the public
accommodation provision in certain circumstances; providing
that the subdivisions of the State are subject to certain
discrimination prohibitions that are now applicable to the
State; and prohibiting the issuance and enforcement of a
certain order that affects the cost, level, or type of
certain transportation services under certain conditions.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 49B - Human Relations Commission

(A) It is unlawful for an owner or operator of a place of
public accommodation or an agent or employee of the owner or
operator, because of the race, creed, sex, age, color, national
origin, marital status, or physical or mental handicap, of any
person, to refuse, withhold from, or deny to such person any of
the accommodations, advantages, facilities and privileges of such
place of public accommodation.
