(2) THE DEPARTMENT IS UNABLE TO FIND OTHER CONTROL

(3) THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY PUBLISHES
NOTICE IN THE FEDERAL REGISTER THAT THE STATE OF MARYLAND IS NOT
IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE CLEAN AIR ACT (42 U.S.C.
§7401 THROUGH 7602).                                                 

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1986.

AN ACT concerning

Maryland State Board of Morticians

FOR the purpose of defining and redefining certain terms;
authorizing the State Board of Morticians to adopt rules and
regulations regarding false and misleading advertising and
misrepresentation; changing the application and licensure
requirements for the practice of mortuary science and the
operation of a funeral establishment; providing certain
application, character, educational, and examination
requirements for licensure; providing certain requirements
for apprenticeship; increasing the fee for a surviving
spouse license; providing for the issuance and fee of a
nontransferable courtesy card to a practitioner of mortuary
science licensed in another state; providing for the scope
of activities of the holder of a courtesy card; providing
certain exceptions for a person who obtains a certain
burial-transit permit; and generally relating to the
practice of mortuary science and funeral direction.
