SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect October 1, 1986.

AN ACT concerning
Higher Education - Scholarships to Teach
in Areas of Critical Shortage
FOR the purpose of altering the prerequisites for a person to
enroll in a program to teach in an area of critical shortage
so that eligible high school graduates may receive tuition
assistance for a certain number of years of undergraduate
school; and extending the time within which certain tuition
assistance shall be repaid.
Higher Education - Tuition Assistance - Geographic
Area of Extraordinary Shortage
FOR the purpose of providing tuition assistance awards for
teaching in certain geographic areas of extraordinary
teacher shortage; requiring the State Board of Education to
adopt certain rules and regulations; waiving certain tuition
assistance repayment provisions under certain conditions;
altering the allocation of scholarship funds to legislative
districts; and generally relating to tuition assistance for
persons to teach in a geographic area of extraordinary
teacher shortage.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
