AN ACT concerning
Drugs - Authorized Prescribers
FOR the purpose of authorizing certain prescribers to prepare and
dispense prescription drugs under certain conditions only,
and to dispense drug samples under certain conditions only;
requiring that certain prescribers not have a substantial
financial interest in a pharmacy; requiring that certain
prescribers comply with certain labeling and recordkeeping
requirements; requiring that certain prescribers dispense
samples in the package provided by the manufacture;
manufacturer; requiring that certain prescribers make no
charge for samples; requiring that certain prescribers make
certain entries in certain charts; authorizing certain
licensing boards to adopt rules and regulations regarding
the dispensing of prescription drugs by certain prescribers;
authorizing certain licensing boards and other commissions
to investigate certain violations of this Act; prohibiting
certain prescribers from dispensing prescription drugs
absent the promulgation of certain rules or regulations to
the contrary; exempting starter dosages and the
administration of drugs; providing for certain other
exemptions; providing for the scope of this Act; providing
for certain reports to certain committees of the General
Assembly at certain times; providing for a certain effective
date; and generally relating to the conditions under which
certain prescribers may prepare and dispense prescription
drugs and dispense samples.
