SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Education
13-105.
(d) (5) The interest or other income from the investment of
any [special fund appropriation] FUNDS of the University shall be
credited to the University, PROVIDED THAT ANY INTEREST ESTIMATED
TO BE EARNED ON THE STATE APPROPRIATION MUST BE OFFSET BY AN
EQUIVALENT REDUCTION IN STATE GENERAL FUND SUPPORT, AND SUCH
AMOUNT WILL BE REPORTED ANNUALLY TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY.
13-204.5.
The interest or other income from the investment of any
[special fund appropriation to] FUNDS OF the University shall be
credited to the University, PROVIDED THAT ANY INTEREST ESTIMATED
TO BE EARNED ON THE STATE APPROPRIATION MUST BE OFFSET BY AN
EQUIVALENT REDUCTION IN STATE GENERAL FUND SUPPORT, AND SUCH
AMOUNT WILL BE REPORTED ANNUALLY TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY.

institutions under its jurisdiction shall be credited to the
institution, PROVIDED THAT ANY INTEREST ESTIMATED TO BE EARNED ON
THE STATE APPROPRIATION MUST BE OFFSET BY AN EQUIVALENT REDUCTION
IN STATE GENERAL FUND SUPPORT, AND SUCH AMOUNT WILL BE REPORTED
ANNUALLY TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY.

AMOUNT WILL BE REPORTED ANNUALLY TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1986.
