AN ACT concerning
Boxing , or Sparring, and Wrestling - Urine Test
FOR the purpose of prohibiting a boxer or wrestler from entering
the ring unless the boxer or wrestler passes a certain urine
test; authorizing the State Athletic Commission to revoke a
boxer's or wrestler's license if the boxer or wrestler fails
a certain urine test; requiring the State Athletic
Commission to adopt certain regulations regarding a urine
test for a boxer or wrestler; clarifying language; and
generally relating to a urine test for a boxer or wrestler.
FOR the purpose of requiring a contestant in a boxing , or
sparring, or wrestling match or exhibition to submit to a
chemical test of the contestant's urine after the match or
exhibition for a certain purpose; requiring the State
Athletic Commission to adopt certain regulations; requiring
the Commission to revoke the license of a boxer or wrestler
under certain circumstances; requiring a boxer or wrestler
to forfeit specific compensation under certain
circumstances; providing for the disposition of certain
compensation forfeited under this Act; making technical
changes; and generally relating to requiring a certain
chemical test of a contestant's urine after a boxing , or
sparringy, or wrestling match or exhibition.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 56 - Licenses
126.
(A) [No] A boxer or wrestler [shall be permitted
to] MAY not enter the ring unless [he has been] THE BOXER OR
WRESTLER :
(1) PASSES A URINE TEST THAT DETECTS DRUG ABUSE IN
ACCORDANCE WITH THE REGULATIONS ADOPTED BY THE COMMISSION; AND
(2) IS declared in physical fitness by a competent
physician.
