FOR the purpose of increasing the sanctions for illegal

transportation of hazardous materials across or through
certain facilities of the Maryland Transportation Authority;
imposing a certain penalty and a certain number of points
for violation of certain prohibitions on transportation of

hazardous materials; providing a certain exception;
increasing a certain penalty; clarifying language and making

certain changes to conform to federal law; and generally
relating to transportation of hazardous materials on
crossings and highways.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF

MARYLAND, That Section(s) 16-402(19) 16-402(a)(8) 16-402(a)(7)
through 16-402(26) 16-402(a)(26), respectively, of Article -
Transportation of the Annotated Code of Maryland be renumbered to

be Section(s) 16-402(20) 16-402(a)(9) 16-402(a)(8) through
16-402(27) 16-402(a)(27), respectively.
