[8-107.

(a)  (1) Except as provided under subsection (b) of this
section, a person granted a license under the provisions of this
subtitle may not install or repair electrical wires, conductors,
or apparatus for electric light, heat, or power purposes after
the expiration of the licenses, or after the license has been
revoked, unless the license or its renewal has been renewed.

(2)  Any person granted a license under the provisions
of this subtitle (unless the license has been revoked) shall be
granted a renewal of his license without examination of the
applicant.

(3)  Application shall be made to the Board by the
holder of the license within 3 months preceding the expiration of
the license upon the payment of a $10 fee.

(4)  The renewal of the license shall be for a 1 year
period.

(5)  Any such renewal of the license shall have the
same weight as evidence in any court of this State as provided
for the original license.

(6)  One year renewals shall be granted in like manner
upon expiration of any renewal of license upon making like
application and paying like fee within 3 months preceding the
expiration of the renewal.

(b)  (1) The Board shall place a licensee on inactive
status, if. the licensee submits to the Board:

(i) An application for inactive status on the
form required by the Board; and

(ii) The inactive status fee set by the Board.

(2) The Board shall issue a license to a person who
is on inactive status if:

(i) The person has been placed on inactive
status for less than 24 months; and

(ii) The person complies with the renewal
requirements that existed when the person was placed on inactive

(A) AN ACTIVE LICENSE EXPIRES ON DECEMBER 31 OF EACH YEAR
AND IS RENEWABLE EVERY YEAR UPON PAYMENT OF THE FEE AND DELIVERY
OF THE BOND, UNLESS THE BOARD HAS REVOKED THE LICENSE.
