1920                                        LAWS OF MARYLAND                                    Ch. 522

IS LOCATED, THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL HOLD IN THE EVENING,
BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 6:00 P.M. AND 10:00 P.M., A PUBLIC HEARING
ADVERTISED IN A LOCAL NEWSPAPER OF GENERAL CIRCULATION AT LEAST 2
WEEKS BEFORE THE HEARING.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1986.

(House Bill 1073)

AN ACT concerning

Property Tax Credit - Application Deadline

FOR the purpose of permitting the Department of Assessments and

Taxation to extend the time for accepting applications from
certain elderly homeowners for a homeowners' tax credit for
certain property; and setting the latest date for accepting
applications.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 9-104(k)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1986 Volume)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF

MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Tax - Property
9-104.

(k) (1) On or before September 1 of the taxable year in
which the property tax credit under this section is sought, a
homeowner may apply to the Department for a property tax credit
under this section. The application shall be made on the form
that the Department provides.

(2) (I) For good cause, the Department may accept an
application after September 1 but on or before October 31 of the
taxable year.
