AN ACT concerning

Board of Examiners of Maryland Pilots -
Regulatory Authority

FOR the purpose of requiring an applicant for the position of
apprentice pilot to pay an application fee prescribed by the
Board of Examiners of Maryland Pilots; authorizing the Board
to reprimand a licensed pilot under certain circumstances;
and generally relating to the regulatory authority of the
Board of Examiners of Maryland Pilots.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 2 and 7

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 74 - Pilots

(A)  Any person who may desire to be listed as a qualified
applicant for the position of apprentice pilot shall file an
application with the Board of Examiners of Maryland Pilots AND
PAY A REASONABLE APPLICATION FEE BASED ON THE COSTS OF
ADMINISTERING THE APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM AS DETERMINED BY THE
BOARD OF EXAMINERS.

(B)  If the Board finds that the applicant is able to meet
the requirements fixed by the Board and the applicant shall pass
such mental and physical examination as may be required, the
applicant shall be placed on the list of qualified applicants.

(C)  The Board of Examiners may select and appoint from the
list of qualified applicants any number of apprentice pilots as
they may deem necessary for the protection of the commercial
interests of the State.
