AN ACT concerning

Abandoned Vehicles - Restitution

FOR the purpose of providing that, on conviction of a violation
of certain prohibitions against abandonment of a vehicle, a
court may order the defendant to make restitution to a
governmental entity for certain expenses; altering a
definition of the term "crime" to include a violation of
certain prohibitions against abandonment of a vehicle for
the purpose of authorizing a court order of certain
restitution; and generally relating to restitution for a
violation of certain prohibitions against abandonment of a
vehicle.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 27 - Crimes and Punishments

(a) In this subtitle, the following words have the meanings
indicated, unless the context of their use indicates otherwise.

(1) "ABANDONED VEHICLE" HAS THE SAME MEANING AS
STATED IN § 25-201 OF THE TRANSPORTATION ARTICLE.
