AN ACT concerning

Crimes of Violence - Victims - Notice

FOR the purpose of requiring the State's Attorney to send written

notice to the victim of a crime of violence before certain
proceedings concerning the defendant are held and to send
certain notification to the Attorney General; providing that
the victim must take certain actions in order to receive the
notice; providing that a designated family member may
receive the notice if the crime was a homicide; requiring
the Office of the Attorney General to notify the victim of a
crime of violence and the State's Attorney's Office of
certain dates pertinent' to the defendant's appeal; and
generally relating to notifying victims of violent crime
when subsequent proceedings concerning the defendant are
held.

MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 10 - Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact

40A.

(A) IN THIS SECTION "SUBSEQUENT PROCEEDING" INCLUDES:

(1)  A REVIEW OF SENTENCE UNDER ARTICLE 27, § 645JA OF
THE CODE;

(2)  A HEARING ON A REQUEST TO HAVE A SENTENCE
MODIFIED OR VACATED UNDER THE MARYLAND RULES;

(3)  AN APPEAL TO THE COURT OF SPECIAL APPEALS; OR
