AN ACT concerning

CHAPTER 404

(House Bill 13)

FOR

Advisory Council on Lead Poisoning

the purpose of establishing an Advisory Council on Lead
Poisoning; providing for the composition, appointment of
members, qualifications, terms, meetings, and officers of
the Advisory Council; providing for general powers and
duties of the Advisory Council; providing for the duties and
powers of the Advisory Council and the Secretaries of the
State Departments of Health and Mental Hygiene and Economic
and Community Development to assist in the development and
monitoring of a State plan for lead poisoning control;
requiring the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to
develop a certain plan; and generally relating to the
establishment of an Advisory Council on Lead Poisoning.

THE GOAL OF THE ADVISORY COUNCIL IS TO ASSIST IN THE
DEVELOPMENT AND ONGOING MONITORING OF A PLAN TO ELIMINATE ALL BUT

SPORADIC CASES OF LEAD POISONING IN MARYLAND BY JULY 1, 1995 JULY
1, 2000.
