modernizing and correcting provisions concerning acceptance
of bail, court reporters, bailiff's and secretaries;
repealing obsolete provisions as to sessions of the Criminal
Court of Baltimore, Bills of Exceptions, the Municipal
Court, Circuit Court No. 2, additional judges for the
Supreme Bench, appeals from Justices of the Peace,
applications for naturalization; procedures for and service
on petit or grand juries; filing of opinions; and the
employment of watchmen; election of a clerk for Circuit
Court No. 2; motions for new trial in various matters;
commitments and recognizances by justices of the peace;
appointment of probation officers; juvenile matters; civil
procedure and scheduling of cases; funds or bonds in the
custody of the probation department; suspension of sentence
and probation; indexing of real property; terms of court;
and defining a minor; repealing the obsolete title relating
to Moving Picture Machine Operators; and correcting
cross-references; deleting unnecessary references and
removing surplus language; making stylistic changes;
changing the name of a subtitle; generally updating the
judicial references and provisions of the Public Local Laws
of Baltimore City; and providing for the effect,
construction, and effective date of this Act.
