AN ACT concerning

Carroll County - Wine Tasting License

FOR the purpose of authorizing the Carroll County Board of
License Commissioners to issue a (WT) wine tasting license
to certain holders of permanent alcoholic beverages
licenses; establishing a fee for this license; providing
regulations governing the use and issuance of this license;
authorizing the Board to adopt rules or regulations to
implement this Act; providing that certain restrictions are
not applicable to this license; and generally relating to a
(WT) alcoholic beverages license in Carroll County.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages

39E.

(A) (1) IN CARROLL COUNTY, THE BOARD OF LICENSE
COMMISSIONERS MAY APPROVE THE ISSUANCE OF A WINE TASTING (WT)
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES LICENSE.

(2)  THE LICENSE IS ISSUED ONLY TO HOLDERS OF A BEER,
WINE AND LIQUOR (BWL) OR A BEER AND WINE (BW) LICENSE.

(3)  THE LICENSE PERMITS THE CONSUMPTION OF WINE,
CONTAINING NOT MORE THAN 14 PERCENT OF ALCOHOL BY VOLUME,
AUTHORIZED TO BE SOLD BY THE BEER, WINE, AND LIQUOR LICENSE (BWL)
OR THE BEER AND WINE LICENSE (BW) FOR TASTING OR SAMPLING
PURPOSES ONLY AND FOR WHICH NO CONSIDERATION MAY BE CHARGED OR
EXACTED.

(4)  THE BOARD OF LICENSE COMMISSIONERS SHALL
REGULATE:

(I)  THE QUANTITY OF WINE TO BE SERVED TO EACH
PERSON;

(II)  THE NUMBER OF BOTTLES OF WINE FROM WHICH
THIS QUANTITY IS BEING SERVED.
