lease with the corporation known as the Baltimore Orioles or a
National Football League professional professional football
franchise has been entered into with the Maryland Stadium
Authority and approved by the Board of Public Works, that with no
further action required by the General Assembly, this Act shall
be abrogated and of no further force and effect. The Board of
Public Works shall determine what constitutes a long term lease
for the purposes of this section.

AN ACT concerning
Unemployment Insurance - Benefits
FOR the purpose of increasing the minimum weekly benefit amount
payable under unemployment insurance; increasing the maximum
weekly benefit amount; increasing by a certain amount
allowances for dependents; and generally relating to
unemployment insurance benefits.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

(b) (1) Weekly Benefit Amount. An individual's "weekly
benefit amount" shall be determined by applying the total of
wages paid him for insured work in that calendar quarter of his
base period in which such total wages were highest to column (A)
in "schedule of benefits" set forth below. Upon determination as
to the division of said schedule for which such individual's high
quarter wages qualify, the weekly benefit amount shall be the
amount shown on the same line in column (B).
Provided, if a claimant had not earned qualifying wages, as
required in § 4(d) of this article, for the weekly benefit amount
shown in the schedule of benefits on the basis of his earnings in
