HARRY HUGHES, Governor

109

(7) Four shall be residents of this State, chosen for
their interest in higher education, who are not employed by,
professionally affiliated with, or members of the governing board
of any institution of higher education in this State; and

[(6) One shall be a representative of the private
postsecondary proprietary institutions;]

(8) ONE SHALL BE A STUDENT.

DRAFTER'S NOTE: This corrects an error in § 18-202(a) of
the Education Article.

The membership of the State Scholarship Board was
increased to 11 members in Chs. 142 and 334 of the
Acts of the Regular Session of the General Assembly of
1985, and this is reflected in ED § 18-202(b).
However, because Ch. 142 and Ch. 334 each added a
different additional member, ED § 18-202(a) does not
reflect that there were two members added, bringing
the total membership to 11. Instead, ED § 202(a) only
reflects the total membership reflected in each Act.

The error was noted by the Governor's Legislative
Office and by the Michie Company.

18-308.

(b) The State Scholarship Board may enter into reciprocal
scholarship agreements with other states. [However] HOWEVER, the
Board shall give priority to entering into reciprocal agreements
with contiguous and nearby states.

DRAFTER'S NOTE: This corrects the omission of punctuation
in § 18-308(b) of the Education Article.

The punctuation, a comma after the work "However", was
omitted in Ch. 613 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of 1980.

The omission of the punctuation was noted by the
Computer Division of the Department of Legislative
Reference.

(d) The State Scholarship Board shall submit an annual
report on the reciprocal scholarship program to the State Board
[of] FOR Higher Education.

DRAFTER'S NOTE: This corrects a misnomer in a reference to
the State Board for Higher Education in § 18-308(d) of
the Education Article.

The misnomer occurred in Ch. 613 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1980.
