   the Said Deft by his attry afd Comes into Court and Saith that he is^notin[forme]d
   by the Said Deft how to plead and that he Cannot Say anthing in barr of
   Said Accõn by which the afd Plts may remain against the Said Deft
   undefended : : Therfore it is Considered by the Court here vizt. this —
   Twentieth day of March Anno Domini One Thousand Seven——
   hundred and Seventeen That the Said Plts John Burridge and
   Company do recover against the Said Deft~ William Ringgold as
   well the afd Sume of Seventeen hundred and fifty pounds of Tobacco
   Debt as also the Sume of Two hundred and Sixty four pounds of~
   Tobacco Cost by the afd Plts about his Sute in this behalfe Expended
   and by the Cort here of his assent adjudged And the Said Deft~ to
   be taken into Custody &ca

   keep So that he have his body before his Said Lord Ships Justices of the next
   Court to be held at our Court house in the Town of Chester in Siad County to
   Answer unto James Harris of a plea of Trespass of the Case and that he have
   then and there the Said writ &ca Att which Said next Court vizt. the -
   Eighteenth day of March in the Year afd the day of return of Said writ came
   Simon Wilmer Gent~. high Sherf of Said County and made return thereof~
   in these words thereon Endorsed as folls vizt. Cepi Corpus pr Simon Wilmer Sherf
   and A Decln being fild when Said writ Issued forth and a Copy thereof~
   Served therewith according to Act of assembly in Such Case made was as
   folls vizt. Kent County Ss Thomas Hattenpenny of Kent County Planter Stands
   attached to Answer unto James Harris of a plea of Trespass of the Case~.
   and Whereupon the afd Plt. by Thomas Bowne his attry Complaineth
   that Whereas the afd Deft~. the Seventh day of September In ye Year of our Lord Christ one Thousand
   Seven hundred & Seventeen at St. Pauls Parish in Kent County within ye Jurisdiciõn of this
   Court In Consideration that the afd Plt~. at ye Special Instance & request of ye afd Deft~ had then
   & there Sold & Delivered unto ye afd Deft & to ye proper use & behoofe of ye afd Deft~.
   diverse goods and Merchandizes at the Severall rates & prices in an Accot. hereunto
   annexed Specifically Set forth which in the whole amounts unto ye Sum of Six
