   next Court vizt. the Eighteenth day of March the Same Year last mentioned
   the day of return of Said writ Came Simon Wilmer Gent high Sherf
   of Said County and made return thereof in these words thereon Endorsed
   as folls vizt Cepi Corpus pr S:Wilmer Sherf.
   and a Decln being fild in Said Accõn and a Copy thereof Served therewith
   According to Act of Assembly in Such Case made was as followeth
   vizt Kent County Ss John Jones of Kent County Planter Stands attached
   to Answer unto Samuell Phillips of Sd County Planter of a plea
   of Trespass of the Case . .   and whereupon the afd Plt by .
   Thomas Bowne his attry Complaineth for that whereas the —
   afd Deft the Twenty first day of May in the year of our Lord Christ
   one Thousand Seven hundred and fifteen at St. Pauls Parish~
   in Kent County within the Jurisdiciõn of this Court was Indebted to
   the Same Plt. in the full and just Sume of ffour hundred fifty —
   Eight pounds of good Sound Merchantable Tobacco for the like —
   Sume of Tobacco for divers goods and Merchandizes Sold and delivered
   to the Said Deft and for divers Services done by the afd Plt before that
   time for the afd Deft and to the proper use and behoofe of the afd
   Deft and So thereof being indebted the afd Deft. In Consideration—
   thereof afterwards vizt. the afd Twenty first day of May in the Year
   afd at the Parish County & Jurisdiciõn afd upon himselfe assumed &
   to the Said Plt then and there last mentioned faithfully promised
   that the Said Deft the afd Sume of ffour hundred and ffifty Eight
   pounds of good Sound Merchantable Tobacco to the afd Plt. when—
   thereunto required would well and truly pay & Content And that
   whereas also the afd Deft. afterwards vizt. the third day of March
   in the Year of our Lord Christ one Thousand Seven hundred and
   Sixteen at the parish County & Jurisdiciõn afd In Consideration that the
   afd Plt. at the Speciall Instance and request of the afd Deft would pay
   to a certain Abraham Ambrose to his the Said Defts use four Bushells
   of Merchantable Indian Corne upon himselfe Assumed and to the
   Said Plt. then and there last mentioned faithfully promised that he the
   Said Deft~ So much Merchantable Tobacco as the afd^[Plt?]for the paying
   four Bushells of Indian Corn Should reasonably deserved to the Said Plt
   when thereunto he the Said Deft Should be required would well and
   truly pay and Content And the afd Plt. Indeed Saith that afterwards -
   vizt. the afd third day of March in the Year of our Lord Christ Seventeen
   hundred and Sixteen at the Parish County and Jurisdiciõn afd he the Said
   Plt. paid to the afd Abraham Ambrose the afd ffour bushells of Indian
