   20                                       June Court 1716
    things Served & executed &ca.   .   .   . And now at this Court Came the
   afd John Johnson Clark of the Indictments and offereth himselfe agst the
   afd Ann Glenn and the Same Ann being called came and in her-
   proper person appeared to the Same Indictment: ordered by the Court
   here that the afd Ann Glenn prove the begitter of her base born~
   Child last delivered of . but She deneys to own who was the begitter
   but Saith that She hath been guilty of committing fornication and
   Submitts to the Court on the Indictment afd Therefore it is Consider:
  :ed by the Court here viz this nineteenth day of June Anno Domini
   one Thousand Seven hundred and Sixteen That the afd Ann Glenn~
   receive on her bare back Thirty one Lashes till the blood appear
   for comitting fornication as afd according to Act of Assembly in—
   Such case made &ca. and also pay the Sume of three hundred nin^ety
   Three pounds of Tobacco Cost on the premises &ca ———
   It is Considered by the Court here also The Same day last mentioned
   That William Frisby Gent~ high Sherf of Said County take the afd
   Ann Glenn to the Publique whyping Post and to receive as in the
   Judgment afd and then to bring her into Court againe &ca.
   After which the Same day last mentioned Came the afd Sherf wth
   his precept against the afd Ann as also the afd Ann and made~
   return thereof as folls viz.t In all things Served & Executed pr —
   Wm Ffrisby Sherf —————
   ordered by this Court here that the afd Ann Glenn give —
   Surety to keep the County harmless from her afd Child
   Ann Glenn afd comes into Court and acknowledges herselfe indebted
   to his Lord Ship his heires and Successors in the full and Just Sume
   of five Thousand pounds of Tobacco to be Leveyed on her goods &
   chattells Lands and Tenements conditionally that if She do not
   keep the child She was last delivered of from the County and from~
   all charge that Shall or may accrue on Accot of the Same wherewith
   She acknowledges herselfe to be therewith Content ——
   Likewise Thomas Cooke of this County comes into Court and acknowledges
   himselfe Indebted to his Lord Ship his heires and Successors in the full &
   Just Sume of five Thousand pounds of Tobacco to be Leveyed on his goods
   & chattells Lands & Tenements Conditionally that if the afd Ann Glenn~
   doe not keep the Child She was last delivered of from all charge that-
   hath or may accrue to ye County on Accot. of the Same wherewith he —
   acknowledges himselfe to be therewith Content    ordered by this Court-
   here that the Mastr. of the afd Ann Glenn at the Expiration of her
