   Plt against Jno Burk Deft~ you William Woodland do undertake for the Sd
   John Burk Deft in ye Sum of Twelve hundred pounds of Tobacco to be Leveyed
   on your goods and Chattells Lands & Tenements to ye use of ye Sd Josiah Crouch
   ye Pltf upon Condition that if the Said John Burk Shall not pay ye Condemnati
  :on of a Certain debt or Trespass upon ye Case obtained this last November
   Court in the afd County & Province or deliver himselfe to ye prison of the
   Lord Proprietor or you will do it for him You Acknowledge your Selfe to be
   Content therewith   Taken & Acknowledged before me John March one of
   the Lord Proprietors Justices of Said County the first day of December Anno
   Domini 1716
      And at the Same Court the afd Accõn Standing for tryall Came the afd
   Plt. and offered himselfe in the plea afd and the Said Deft being called
   Came not neither hath he put in any Plea to the Same . on which this
   Court give rule to the Said Deft~ to plead to the Same four hours before
   the Court adjourns otherwise Judgment to be rendered for want of the
   Same : after which time being out and no plea put in whereby
   the afd Pltf may Still remain without defence   Therefore it is Consider:
  :ed by the Court here vizt. the day last mentioned That is to Say this Twenty
   third day of March Anno Domini One Thousand Seven hundred and
   Sixteen That the afd Pltf Josiah Crouch Admr. of the Said Anthony
   Knowlman deceased Recover against the Said Deft John Burk as well
   the afd SUme of five hundred fifty Seven pounds of Tobacco Debt~.
   as also the Sume of Three hundred thirty one pounds of Tobacco Cost~
   by the afd Pltf about his Suite in this behalfe expended and by the
   Court here of his assent adjudged and that the Said Deft be taken into
   Custody

              at | County the twenty Sixth day of August in the
   Thomas Cooke— | Second year of his Lordships Dominion &ca Anno
   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ | Dominion &ca. That he take Thomas Cooke .
   of Kent County Planter alis Dics Thos Cooke of the County of Kent in the .
   Province of Maryland Planter if he Should be found in his Bailywick
   & him Safe keep So that he have his body before his Said Lord Ships —
   Justices of the next Court to be held at our Court house in the Town of —
   Chester in Said County was Summoned to Answer unto William—
   Granger of the afd County & Province Cordwind.r of a plea that he render to
   him the full and just Sume of five thousand pounds of good Sound ——
   Merchantable leafe Tobacco and Cask of ye price &ca value of Twenty
   pounds Sixteen Shillings & Eight pence Sterling money which he
