   may Answr.
                And the Said James by John Johnson his attry comes and —
   defends the force and injury when &ca. and Saith that he did not—
   assume upon himselfe in Such manner and forme as the Said Plt.
   in his Decln above hath Imposed upon him and of this he puts
   himself upon the Country   Johnson pr Deft~
                And the Plt in like manner   TBowne pr Quer
     Thereupon Commanded it was to the Sherf of Kent County
   that he imdeatly Should Cause to come here Twelve &ca. By whom
   &ca. To Recognize &ca Because as well &ca. who neither &ca. And the
   Sherf of Said County comes and Saith that he hath ready twelve
   as by his precept it was Commanded who being called Likewise
   came vuzt- John Evans William Worrell Thomas Jones Roger -
   Hails George Gleaves Samuel Philips John Jones Nehemiah—
   Powell William Brown Thomas Wilkins Christopher Bellican
   Robert Green which Jury being duly Elected tryd and Sworn—
   and having heard the allegations pleadings and Evidences on~
   both Sides do withdraw and after Some time do againe return
   to the barr and being Called over do all appear as also the Plt
   and Deft. And the Jury being asked whether they are agreed
   on a verdict do Say they are and being demanded whether
   they find for the Plt or Deft~ do Say they find for the Plt and
   that the Deft did assume in manner and forme as above ——
   declared and find damages twelve hundred pounds of Tobacco
   with Costs And by John Evans there foreman all So Say
           To which the Deft by his attry afd moves in Stay of~
   Judgment on the verdict of the Jurors afd which was granted
   but that he file reasons before the Said Court adjourns and —
   thereupon the Said Cause was Continued untill next Court
             Att which Said next Court vizt. the nineteenth day of
   March the Same year last mentioned Came the afd Deft by his
   attry afd And the Said Plt by his attry afd and the Said Deft~
   by his attry afd fild the Reasons which folls vizt.    Reasons in
   arrest Judgment   And the afd Deft Saith that the verdict afd agst
