   Lord Ship — | Maryland Kent County Ss The Jurors for our Lord
        at |                 Proprietarie of this Province upon their Oath
   Eliz Poulson | do present that Eliz.a Poulson late of the County afd Spinster

the first day of January in the year of our Lord one Thousand
   Seven hundred and fifteen at the Parish of S.t Pauls in the County afd & within
   the Jurisdiciõn of this Court & at divers others days & times as well before as.
   after did committ fornication with a Certain person to the Jurors unknown
   to the high displeasure of Almighty God & to ye evill example of others agst.
   the peace &ca. & agst. the forme of an Act of Assemble of this province in that
   case made & provided Johnson pr Dne Propriet.~ on the back of the preceeding
   bill of Indictmt. was Endorsed as folls. vizt~— Billa vera pr Simon Wilmer foreman
   Thereupon Command was given to the Cunstable of Worton hundred
   in the County afd the twentifourth day of March in the first year of the —
   Dominion of Charles absolute Lord & Proprietarie of the Province of Maryland
   &ca. that he take Eliza Poulson late of the County afd Spinster if She Should be
   found in the hundred afd and her Safe keep So that he Carry her before the
   next Justice of his Said Ld Ships for Said County and before the Same Justice to
   enter into Recognizance w.th Such Sureties as the Same Justices Should think
   fitt for her personall appearance before the Justices of our next Court to be -
   held at our Court house in the Town of Chester in Said County to Answer unto
   to Answer unto a certain bill of Indictment found against her for Committing
   fornication with a Certain man unknowne &ca. and that he have then &
   there the Said precept &ca.   Att wch Said next Court vizt this Nineteenth day
   of June Anno Domi 1716 the day of return of Said precept came William
   Blackiston Cunstable of the afd hundred and made return of the Said precept in
   all things Served & Executed pr Wm Blackiston Cunstable——
   And now at this Court the Same day last mentioned Came John Johnson—
   Clarke of ye Indictments and the Said Eliz.a being called Came and in her—
   proper person appeared at the barr and ye Court orders that She prove the~
   person that begott the Child &ca. on which takes her corporall oath on the holy
   Evangilists of Almighty God and Saith that John Underhill junr. of this County &—.
   Servant wth her at Mr Thomas Bownes is the person that did Committ fornicacõn
   wth. her and thereby begott her with Child As being charged as afd and —
   Submits her Selfe to the Court on the Same .   . Therefore it is Considered
   by the Court here viz.t this nineteenth day of June Anno Domi 1716 That the
   afd Eliz.a Poulson be taken to ye whiping Post and receive on her bare back
   Eleaven lashes till the blood appear for~ Committing the offence of —
   fornication as afd an pay the Sume of Three hundred thirty one pounds of
   Tobacco Cost arriseing on the premises afd &ca
   It is Considered by the Court also ye Same day last mentioned that——
