June Court 1715 John James Son of John James late of Said County deceased the Said orphan being fourteen years old the tenth day of March last and now Comes into Court and prays that Richard Hubanks of Said County may be his Guardian which is Granted and that the Said Richard being Called into Court is given notice of the Same and ordered to observe the Law in that Case made &ca The Said Richard Hubanks Comes into Court and Promises that for the use of the Said orphans Estate to learn him the Said John James to read well in the bible to write a fare Legeable hand and to Cypher as far as the rule of three that is to Say to be perfect in all the . rules as far as the rule of three (the rule of three inclusive) So. to be taught that he can do the Same when he arrives at the age of Eighteen years . . And also doth Promise that the Said orphan Shall be Instructed in the Articles of the Church of England Richard Davis of this County Comes into Court and takes his Corporall Oath on the Holy Evangilists of Almighty God and Saith that his Servant woman Elizabeth Silvester otherwise Called Elizabeth Kilby. absented his Service without his leave the Space of twenty one days . . And the Said Elizabeth being called to Answer the Same who came. & Said that She could not gainsay but that She had absented from her afd Masters Service the time afd. And the Said Richard prays Judgmt. for the Same : Therefore it is Considered by the Court here vizt this Twenty Seventh day of June Anno Domini one Thousand Seven hundred and fifteen that the afd Elizabeth at the expiration of her Service that She is now a Servant that She Serve Two hundred and. tenn days to her afd Master Richard Davis for the time She absented his Service as afsd.
