                                                   March Court 1714/15.
   Such Sureties as the Same Justice Should think fitt for her personall appearance .
   before ye Justices of the then next Court to be held at the Court house in the Town
   of Chester in Said County to Answer unto a Certain Bill of Indictment found against her
   for Committing fornication w.th a Certain man unknown &ca.   Att which Said next Court viz.t the first
   day of March in the Year last mentioned Came the Cunstable of the hundred
   last mentioned and returnd his precept as foll viz   These are to Certifie
   to the Justices within mentioned that I have taken the within Elizabeth as by
   the precept I am Commanded    pr    Benj Griffith Cunstable— ——
   on which Came M.r William Pott. one of his Majesties Justices of our Said .
   Lord the King And made return of A Recognizance taken before him for the
   appearance of the Said Elizabeth Meeks. And the Sd Elizabeth being Called Came.
   and in her proper Person appeared to the Said Recognizance and prayd that
   She might be Discharged from the Same .   ordered by the Court here that
   the Sd Elizabeth Meeks be discharged from the Said Recognizance and also -
   her Sureties from there Recognizances for her appearance
    Elizabeth Meeks afd Entered into Recognizance before the Sd M.r Pott. the twelfth day
   of Janry last in the Sume of Twenty pounds Sterlg money &ca. to be paid to his Majesty
   his heires and Successors &ca. if in Case She Sd Eliza did not make her personall appearance .
   before the Justices of this Court in Court Sitting And Also that She was to Answer unto -
   a Certain Bill of Indictm.t found against her for Committing fornication &ca. This -
   Court here discharges the Same Recogniz.
   Likewise James Meeks and Francis Read at the Same time last mentioned entered
   into Recognizance to his Sd Maj.tie &ca. in ye Sume of tenn pounds Sterlg Each to be Leveyd
   &ca. if in Case the abovesd Elizabeth did not make her personall appearance at
   this present Court and to Answer as afd This Court here discharged the Same Recog
   nizances each of them &ca.
    And the Indictm.t ag.st the Said Elizabeth followeth viz.t Kent County in Maryland Ss.
   The Jurors for our Sovereign Lady ye Queen that now is for the body of Kent County
   afd upon there Oath do present that Elizabeth Meeks daughter of James and Elizabeth
   Meeks of South Sassafras hundred in Kent County afd Spinster the fear of God not~.
   haveing the thirtenth day of July Annoq Domini Seventeen hundred and Twelve and
   at divers other times in the Same Year at South Sassafras hundred in Kent County afd
