March Court 1714 Thereupon Command was given to the Sherrife of Kent County that he immediately . cause to come here twelve &ca. By whome &ca. Who neither &ca. To Recognize &ca. Because as . well &ca. the Sherf comes and Saith he hath ready Twelve as by his precept it was . directed who being called Likewise came viz.t Samuel Wickes Richard West Roger Hailes George Read John Greenwood William Graves Philip Davis Sutton Burgan Danl.l Cooley . Thomas Ringgold Josias Lanham and Thomas Thackston who being duely elected tryd. and Sworn and haveing heard the allegations Pleading & Evidences on both Sides do depart from the barr And After Some time do againe return to the Bar and being Called over do all appear and Likewise ye Plt. and Deft. And the Jury being asked whether they had agreed on A verdict or not Do Say they are agreed on A verdict and being demanded whether they find for the Plt or Deft~ Do Say they find for the Deft. and by Samuel Wickes there foreman all So Say And the afd Deft. by his Attry. afd Prays Judgment on the Verdict afd. which is Granted Therefore it is Considered by the Court here Viz.t this third day of March Anno Domini one . Thousand Seven hundred and fourteen That the Said William Pearce take nothing by his writ and Declaration afd and that his pledges of prosecuteing be in mercy . and that the Said Edward Rotherford go thereof without day and also that the Said . Edward Rotherford Recover from the Said William Pearce the Same of five hundred thirty two pounds of Tobacco Cost about his defence in this behalfe layd out and Expended According to the forme of the Statute &ca.
