State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to Wit On this 25 day of Oc.t 1848 before the subscriber a justice of the Peace for said State in and for Said County Personally appeared John T Hodges and Made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that Negro John aged Twenty one Dark Complexion about five feet Two or three inches is entitled to his freedom Passing under the will of the late Elizabeth Allen recorded in the register of wills office in Prince Georges County Sworn to Before R.C. Hardesty J.P. Maryland Sct.
