State of Maryland Prince Georges County to wit: On the Seventeenth day of April in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and forty Eight before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in and for the said County Personally appeared Mrs Elizabeth Libby and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that Negro man James Williams, bound to her as per instrument of writing made out and subscribed to by John Anderson and Abraham Clark Esquires on the 21.st day of December 1831 and recorded in the office of the Register of Wills is free and that she does by this her voluntary act release him the said James Williams Negro man from all and singular this obligation meant or intended to be meant in said instrument of Writing Given under my hand and seal the day and year ^first^ above written R P [illegible] (seal) |
